Cookie Policy

Nothing, unless you accept it. This site sets no cookies of its own — no preference, session or login cookies — and no advertising cookies at all.

The only cookies are Google Analytics, and they are set solely if you choose “Accept”. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are stored and nothing is sent to Google.

Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, how people find the site, and how many visitors go on to sign up. We use it to decide what to write and what to fix.

These are first-party cookies — stored under our domain — but the information they carry is sent to and processed by Google LLC, which acts as our analytics provider. Google’s own description of these cookies is in its Analytics cookie documentation.

Since 5 February 2026, UK law has allowed some low-risk, first-party analytics to run without consent, under the “statistical purposes” exception introduced into the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

That exception does not cover what we do. It applies only where the information is not shared with anyone else for their own purposes, and where individual visitors are not identified or tracked. Google Analytics assigns each browser an identifier, keeps event-level records, and receives a signal when someone clicks through to sign up. We take the view that this goes beyond the exception, so we ask instead of assuming.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and it takes effect immediately. Withdrawing also deletes the analytics cookies already stored on this device.

Cookie settings

The same control is in the footer of every page. You can also delete cookies through your browser’s settings, though that only clears what is already stored — it does not record a preference, so we would ask again.

If you reject, we will not ask again for six months. That interval follows the Information Commissioner’s guidance that it is unfair to keep asking someone who has already said no.

If we add a cookie, a third party, or a new purpose, we will ask for your consent again rather than relying on a choice you made about something else. A stored choice is tied to the purposes described on this page as at the date above.
